These extremely intricate and finely spun webs open up a wide space of associations, from surreal interiors - possibly be dreamt up by a modern Piranesi - to x-ray images of yet unknown organic life-formes.
And still they are just non representational computer-generated line drawings. Super complex and jet minimalist at the same time.
The code of the algorithms for these neural growth simulations is written by the artist himself. In 2018 he wrote:
“My inspiration to endulge in programming and computer generated art was inspired by classic digital artists like Manfred Mohr, Casey Reas and Marius Watz. But it was my background in architecture that drove me to explore this contemporary paradigm in 3D and even time-based 4D.
What is next? Nowadays I am pushing my algorithmic art even further. I am exploring ways to create paintings in dialogue with some fancy artificial intelligence. Stay tuned..”
