Painted on Original Fine-art Bristol Board
These paintings are generated by hand. In an instant. Super-fast. But in a way they still contain and spatially embody the extremely focused ten seconds it took me to bring each and every one of them into being.
Always the earlier parts of the stroke are spatially further back. The last bits must always in the front. This produces the perspective illusion of a curved space-time-continuum that is not real at all.
This analog process feels different from working in my 3D-software where I can digitally manipulate rotate or twist the sculpture to my liking for as long as I care to do so.
This is why these conceptual paintings are called “Instant Sculptures”. There is no changing or fidgeting around. They are how they are, frozen in time, but the dynamic draftsman`s gesture or painterly action or intuitive drive that brought these pieces to life can still be felt.
Acrylic and Shellac Painting on 300gr. archival acid-free Bristol board
hand-signed on back (so you can experiment with flipping the orientation)
It is shipped directly from STUDIO PETER SANDHAUS in Berlin, Germany Titled, stamped, dated and signed on the back, along with a Certificate of Authenticity.
You will receive the artwork carefully rolled up in a sturdy tube, unframed. It is the safest mode of transport.
Or - if you happen to be around- you can come and visit the studio in person and pick up your artwork in Berlin, Germany.
